More than 250,000 people reached every month: Rail One confirms its growth momentum and continues its multilingual audiovisual development
Growing audiences, hybrid TV/web strategy, multilingual development and prospects for season 6.
Results and growing audiences
Since the beginning of the year, Rail One has been recording a continuous increase in audiences across all its distribution channels. Between February and May, web and television broadcasts reached more than 250,000 people every month.
Each week, approximately 65,000 viewers follow content broadcast on various platforms and partner channels. This momentum confirms the project's evolution towards a broad audience, reaching beyond the circle of railway enthusiasts.
On YouTube, considered a complementary replay service to television broadcasting, shows display an average viewing rate of between 35 and 40%, a particularly high level for long-format content in the audiovisual sector.

Distribution strategy and editorial positioning
Rail One is pursuing a hybrid distribution strategy combining regional television and web platforms. These two channels are considered complementary rather than competing, each serving different uses and audiences.
Audience data shows a structured distribution: approximately 70% families and general public viewers, 20% professionals from the railway and transport sector, and around 10% specialised enthusiasts.
This diversity confirms the project's positioning as a broadly accessible audiovisual magazine, while integrating technical and heritage content.

Multilingual development and technological innovation
Rail One is continuing the development of its multilingual system used to offer shows in four languages. After approximately ten months of development, the multilingual dubbing solution LipsOne™ is entering a third phase of evolution.
The current approach is primarily based on human intervention and interpretation for translations and voices, complemented by the multilingual dubbing solution LipsOne™ for voice adaptation and lip synchronisation. This ensures linguistic quality, viewing comfort and audiovisual coherence.
LipsOne™ is now an important and pioneering strategic pillar for the accessibility of Swiss audiovisual content.

Season 6 prospects and development of collaborations
With season 5 now concluded, Rail One is already preparing season 6 with new content and a broader exploration of the railway landscape. The aim is to offer shows that connect infrastructure more closely to local territories and audiences.
Developing collaborations with companies, networks and sector players also forms a central axis. Rail One is pursuing a logic of co-producing audiovisual content that highlights the technical, heritage and operational aspects of rail.
This momentum is accompanied by a desire to strengthen the visibility of associations and local railway heritage players, while continuing to develop formats accessible to the general public.
A first in Switzerland and Europe: regular shows available in multiple languages thanks to artificial intelligence
Rail One reaches a major milestone with a unique technological innovation that makes our episodes available in four languages.
Facing the profound changes in the audiovisual landscape, Rail One has taken a major step in recent weeks by launching a unique technological innovation: our episodes are now accessible in multiple languages thanks to an advanced AI translation process.
This technology goes beyond simple translation. It enables faithful reproduction of speakers' voice timbres, as well as modification of lip movements, offering viewers a fluid and authentic experience. On screen, the person speaks in another language while retaining their vocal identity and original presence. For the first time in Switzerland — and in Europe, to our knowledge — our content can be viewed in four languages: French (original language), German, Italian and English.

A major advancement for accessibility
In a multilingual country like Switzerland, where language barriers still hinder the circulation of audiovisual content, this innovation represents a major advancement in accessibility. From now on, audiences in German-speaking Switzerland, Ticino and beyond national borders can discover our shows without language constraints.
Initially developed for our specialized railway productions, this working method opens much broader perspectives. Any audiovisual content can now be adapted into multiple languages from a single original production, while preserving the human authenticity of the speaker.
This project is the result of many months of research and development with Lipsie Publishing Hub. It primarily responds to a clear ambition: making content accessible to as many people as possible, without replacing humans, but by enhancing their ability to communicate.

A collaboration between technology and human intervention
While artificial intelligence now makes voice reproduction and visual adaptation possible — an operation that would be impossible without these technologies — our vision is based on close collaboration between technological innovation and human intervention. In the coming weeks, pilot shows will integrate human speakers, enriching interpretation and expression quality, while artificial intelligence handles visual adaptation and voice timbre.
The goal is to create a new balance between technological performance, viewing comfort and authenticity.
At a time when audiovisual media must reinvent itself, this approach represents much more than a technical evolution: it opens a new perspective for cultural and media exchanges between different linguistic regions. In a country with four national languages, this innovation could help bring audiences closer together and promote better content circulation.
From February 14, a new generation of pioneering and immersive shows
Discover a brand new series of shows featuring immersive trainspotting, multilingual content and redesigned visual identity.
Rail One unveils a brand new series of shows and formats. Episodes will be broadcast on Saturday evenings at 6 PM on regional French-speaking Swiss television channels and at 6:30 PM on YouTube, where they will be available in four languages. This development marks a major milestone for the show, which is fundamentally rethinking how it tells the story of rail, while staying true to its DNA.
Total immersion at the heart of filming
These new shows are based on a decidedly pioneering format, combining Rail One's historical chronicles with a much more immersive and spontaneous approach. The goal is clear: to take the viewer along with the team, as close to the action as possible.
Rail One thus highlights trainspotting, the favourite activity of railway enthusiasts, which involves capturing the best images of the most remarkable trains, in the most spectacular places, at the best time. Onboard cameras, car filming, live reactions, constant exchanges between team members thanks to individual microphones: the audience experiences it from the inside, as if they were part of the journey.
This very web-based and dynamic approach, particularly popular with the younger generation, does not forget the show's loyal audience. Each episode retains edited and structured chronicles, allowing for deeper exploration of the topics covered.
Rich and educational content, true to Rail One's DNA
The shows continue to be built around the three essential pillars that make Rail One strong: history, technology and tourism. Each destination, each line and each train are placed in their context to offer a complete and accessible understanding.
The shows maintain a 26-minute format, with content deliberately not announced in advance, to preserve the element of surprise and discovery for viewers. Rail One thus favours a lively and authentic editorial approach, where each new episode is an invitation to travel.
A completely redesigned visual identity
To accompany this editorial evolution, the graphic design of the shows has been completely revised. New tools, new maps, new animations: everything has been rebuilt from scratch to bring more modernity, while respecting Rail One's historical graphic universe. This visual redesign enhances the readability of content and fully embraces new digital uses.
Rail One, first regular multilingual show in Switzerland, even in Europe
Major innovation of this comeback: shows are now available in multiple languages, via four separate YouTube channels in French (original language), German, Italian and English.
This initiative responds to a Swiss reality: a rich and diverse country, but sometimes difficult to understand between its linguistic regions. In the digital age and international broadcasting, making content accessible to as many people as possible has become essential.
Rail One thus becomes the very first regular show in Switzerland – and probably in Europe – to offer each episode fully in multiple languages. To achieve this, the show relies on cutting-edge technology based on artificial intelligence, allowing the original voice timbre to be preserved while adapting lip movements, including those of interviewees. This solution guarantees maximum authenticity, without modifying the words, solely for accessibility and viewing comfort.
Developed with partner Lipsie, this technology is based on a perfectly mastered production process, respecting the original timing of each show, despite the significant rhythm differences between languages. Some sequences are deliberately offered in subtitled original version, particularly during spontaneously captured moments such as in the car. This editorial choice preserves the spontaneity of exchanges, the immediate emotions and the natural expressions of the team, as they are experienced in the moment.
A future-oriented team dynamic
The result of several months of work, these new shows are the result of close collaboration between the Rail One team and many railway partners. They illustrate a common desire to innovate, experiment and advance Swiss audiovisual and railway sectors.
Broadcasts take place at the pace of show production: as soon as a new episode is completed, it is broadcast and put online, without a fixed schedule, to guarantee optimal editorial quality.
See you from February 14
Rail One invites enthusiasts and the curious alike from Saturday, February 14 to discover this new generation of shows, more immersive, more accessible and more ambitious than ever. A collective, dynamic adventure, resolutely focused on the future of rail and its portrayal.
Broadcast on Léman Bleu, La Télé and Canal 9
Rail One will be broadcast on three regional channels from September 1st. Unique technological innovation with Lipsync.
The only television show dedicated to the Swiss railway world is making an exceptional comeback. Its episodes will be broadcast on three regional channels of French-speaking Switzerland every week from September 1st. Viewers will be able to follow our adventures on:
While the Swiss audiovisual world is going through a major crisis, Rail One is positioning itself against the tide. We make television for those who watch us, around a fascinating and more relevant than ever topic. Our ambition is to share unique moments together, to discover and learn more about trains, to capture History through our images, while preparing the future of audiovisual media with proximity and authenticity today. All interested companies can join this dynamic and benefit from this unique reach. Rail One warmly thanks all the partners who have contributed to its success since its creation.
Lipsync technology to reach all regions and the international audience – a first in Switzerland.
In a multilingual country, the question of content accessibility in all regions is a real challenge and probably constitutes one of the pillars of Switzerland's audiovisual future. In collaboration with the company Lipsie, Rail One will use Lipsync technology for most future broadcasts. This innovation makes it possible to offer shows originally in French in three other languages (German, Italian and English for international audiences) with AI lip synchronization giving the impression that each sequence was filmed in each of these languages. This is a real upheaval in the writing and production of shows: each version requires careful reworking. A unique process has been created as part of a pioneering collaboration between Lipsie and Rail One.

This approach is unprecedented for a regular Swiss television show, even in Europe. All episodes meet the technical standards and current legislation allowing their broadcast on all channels that wish to do so. A first test of a translated episode has already been carried out with an incredible result. All versions will be available on YouTube.
New formats, new shows, new collaborations: the objectives for 2026.
For this new season, Rail One will re-broadcast its best episodes including:
➢ The Exploration format, guided by a presenter who breaks down each destination according to our three pillars: History, Technology and Tourism.
➢ The Immersion format, which plunges the viewer into the heart of our destinations and allows them to identify with the camera.
These broadcasts will allow the new audience to discover existing shows before the new productions published for 2026, with an even more dynamic and interactive format, combining television and web content. This is still very rare in the audiovisual world. It allows the public to get to know the team, discover the complexities of filming, our feelings, and always learn more about our destinations: the Adventure format.
Rail One also aims to support associations and foundations to produce shows highlighting the historical railway heritage. Any company that wishes can become a major partner with visibility on all our channels. This will finance the production of shows honouring those who maintain and preserve this heritage, offering the public the opportunity to discover our magnificent historical trains.
